Marantha bicolor - Arrowroot
The arrowroot is a plant species from the arrowroot family (Marantaceae). This tropical plant from northern Brazil can only be cultivated here as a houseplant. The clump-forming perennial grows herbaceous and upright. The tuberous roots produce long, large and strikingly marked leaves that slightly overhang.

Because Maranta need a high level of humidity and we are often unable to give them this in our living spaces, their appearance usually suffers as a result. If your Maranta lookes like this, you did everything right.

Remove brown and wilted leaves with scissors.
Step 2/3
If you don't like the brown tips, you can also carefully cut them out.
Step 3/3
Don't worry, just because the tips of the leaves are turning brown doesn't mean that you are doing something fundamentally wrong in terms of care. However, try to increase the humidity by spraying around the plant (not directly on the leaves, as shown in the picture) or using a humidifier.

If you can’t spray the plant how do you provide the humidity needed?
You could use a humidifier or place bowls of water next to the plant. Some people also like to regularly hang their wet laundry next to the plants. For the winter, when the heating is on, there are clay containers that you can fill with water and hang on the radiators.
